Just 2 questions: Have you got it registered (elec motor on a yak requires it to be reged) and if so do you have to have a rego number on the yak? :?

Great looking yak looks well set up. I had a Tempo (single) and loved it, but it was just to slow and hard to paddle over long distances.

Thanks mommunny, but now I am totally confused :? the regs state that if you have motorised propulsion it needs to be registered. Oh well to yak anyway :D

I think the rules imply a stinky motor..."Engine"

"engine number, make and type (inboard or outboard)
engine fuel type and power units "

Exempted:"(ie. a boat that does not have an engine that is used or is capable of being used for propulsion)"

I think they might change the rules in the future once those torqeedo leecy becomes more financially viable.

Thanks Jim,

Gummyshark, to answer your question on behalf of Cruiser

Stability is still excellent even with the battery and motor loaded... We are now talking 60-70kg in total weight without the paddlers.
However I am now trying to reconfigure that motor leecy option. to make it more user friendly and lighter.
With the leecy it turns well if the load is balanced on the yak. if there is no weight at the front, then it is very hard to get directional control, especially when the wind is moderate.

The advantage is there is alot of deck space and a massive payload of 250kg+

As for inflatable mermaid   ...not very talkative, dont fish and always have her leg/flipper hanging over the side of the kayak
As least she floats when the yak goes down
Cheers,

Momunny
