Givin up ciggies

Post by Yuz »

I managed to last for five weeks :o , i used to smoke 25-30 cigs a day. I've slipped while having a few beers during a D&M with my gf...
So, is there a "honeymoon" to quitting? Feels like the thrill of "winning" is over, the only thing that i had on my mind that there's "something" missing  Well at least now i don't smoke during the day or while sober, but still...
On the positive side, i don't feel dependant on the sh!t, just enjoy it along with beer... for now anyway :|
Any one else quit for good and how many times before once and for all?

Gave up once,

And still don't touch them :P I was lucky and never looked back!!!
Congrats on the effort so far, but get off the stinking things as soon as possible, in the long run, you will be so glad you did.

Think of the $$$ saved from smoke's that can then be diverted to more important things, LURE'S  !!!!!!!!

Gave up 25 years ago and don't miss it. Hard at first and ended up dropping to 4 or 5 a week for a year or so - max of 1 a day. Sometimes an idea to take up a sport that requires some healthy lung capacity. I went back and did a pre-season of football to help (ended up with a bung knee so didn't play again anyway). I recall in the early 80s doing a dive course that 1/2 dozen blokes on it using that as incentive to quit and stay off them.

Hey Widsa, the fact alone that you're thinking about it is important.
You DO feel heaps better even after a couple of days. I took up gym and cycling - awesome fun BUT once i have that nice cold beer in my hand, sitting outside in the evening... too hard lol
