Things I learned today

Post by R055c0z »

Hey folks, new to the forum and to kayak fishing, seems like good times so far.

After a lot of thinking "wow, anglers will do anything for a bite" I realised today that a "soft plastic in motor oil" was referring to a colour and not a lure dipped in motor oil to attract fish. Glad I figured that out at my keyboard instead of on the water...

Cheers for all the info you folks put on here, it really does help :)

Welcome Ross, what part of the world do you fish in?
Well past the edge, almost at the point of no return.

I'm out in cranbourne so good access to both bays, so far I've only had a couple of trips off Olivers Hill in Frankston, really just to get a feel for things. Planning on trying Somers this weekend with a couple of mates. Generally a terrible angler who doesn't trouble the fish much at all, but it's nice to get out of the house ;)

Cranbourne of cause is the centre of the Universe - all the important kayak fishos are from there

yes its close to both bays but one bay has lovely clear water and nice sandy beaches and the other one has fish

Hahaha. Soft plastics and oil can be an awkward google search. Welcome aboard mate.
