Well l ran out of money so the extendable drawbar will have to wait lol but most of the work is done and also changed the mounting on the towbar from a bolted gooseneck to a tube and pin so the T loader doesn't require much modification to work on the commodore  should give me a few more years of service.

Do you need to get the trailer registered?

It needs to be registered if over 3m in length including the draw bar. So typically you would need to register an extended draw bar trailer.

If you put a kayak on the trailer it then is classed as a boat trailer according to vicroads but l haven't been pulled over in 4 years for it not being registered, there are alson other regulations regarding it's size and the vehicle towing it, but if you travel interstate it's better to have it registered.

I have mine registered as a normal trailer as I also use it as a general purpose trailer by taking the PVC yak rails off. I haven't had any issue with this yet and would be surprised if I do.

@Shane if you could, I'd love to see a photo of how you rigged your 'PVC yak rails' to the trailer. I'm thinking of getting a trailer and in the process of doing research. It's nice to get confirmation of what I've read on the official websites.

thanks in advance
