You're not wrong mate. Not only did that cost what would have otherwise been an absolute glorious landing of that marlin, it also resulted in lost footage of the biggest longtail I've ever seen come up yakside, a big trevally, underwater footage of a rather large hammerhead following my kayak and countless other moments as well. Both my cams started failing almost immediately after hitting the water. Thankfully they're more reliable now due to firmware updates, but that hasn't helped their battery life much, which was also a pain on that trip. I hear the Hero3+ models are better allround but I wasn't taking another risk with them, opting for the Garmin Virb instead, which I really like. Easier to use, better battery life, and very well suited for a trip like that.

Black + recording @ 1080 30fps I'm getting around 2hrs recording time
Only one issue so far and that is it drops frames out of some shots usually when there is a lot of noise and quick movements
Just brought some wasabi Power batteries 2batts and a charger for $35 also comes with a car charge adapter

I don't know why y'all aren't heading north at least once a year to get some of the same action. Its a different world up there.
Doubt I would make it out of the PPB in 7 days in my PA

Mick, I could show you spots where you'll catch fish like that 100 metres off the shore from around Hervey Bay. No need to trek all the way to the Isl to get into stellar fish up there. You just need to be in the area. You're right though... a PA is the wrong yak to be doing what we're doing in the Fraser trips
