Re: 6x4 extension for PA
Well l ran out of money so the extendable drawbar will have to wait lol but most of the work is done and also changed the mounting on the towbar from a bolted gooseneck to a tube and pin so the T loader doesn't require much modification to work on the commodore should give me a few more years of service.

Re: 6x4 extension for PA
Got my son to pickup my new roofracks as they didn't have the fitting kit for my car in geelong and they were on special in Altona, so im now all hooked up and ready to roll we figuratively anyway :up
it all seems to be working as it should l brought both my PA and maverick down on the trailer and loaded the maverick on the roofracks for a trip with my son to the sticks in Port Melbourne although didn't land any but lost a trev yakside now just a minor modification to my T loader and alls good Mob no: 0401580668

Do you need to get the trailer registered?

It needs to be registered if over 3m in length including the draw bar. So typically you would need to register an extended draw bar trailer.rambocambo wrote:Do you need to get the trailer registered?

If you put a kayak on the trailer it then is classed as a boat trailer according to vicroads but l haven't been pulled over in 4 years for it not being registered, there are alson other regulations regarding it's size and the vehicle towing it, but if you travel interstate it's better to have it registered.

Re: 6x4 extension for PA
I have mine registered as a normal trailer as I also use it as a general purpose trailer by taking the PVC yak rails off. I haven't had any issue with this yet and would be surprised if I do.peatop wrote:If you put a kayak on the trailer it then is classed as a boat trailer according to vicroads but l haven't been pulled over in 4 years for it not being registered, there are alson other regulations regarding it's size and the vehicle towing it, but if you travel interstate it's better to have it registered.

@Shane if you could, I'd love to see a photo of how you rigged your 'PVC yak rails' to the trailer. I'm thinking of getting a trailer and in the process of doing research. It's nice to get confirmation of what I've read on the official websites.shane wrote: ..use it as a general purpose trailer by taking the PVC yak rails off.
thanks in advance
