Anyone know anything about this? Apparently it blew up expectantly the other night

"Crews in Westernport responded to an EPIRB Activation at 1900hrs this evening. The EPIRB was identified to have come from a Kayaker off Stony Point.
Fortunately the kayaker was able to swim ashore on French Island and was rescued by Ambulance Victoria Air Ambulance and transported to hospital.."

I saw another report saying it was an experienced sea kayaker who set off a PLB. There were also a few boats caught out unexpectedly in it.
