Hi all!
Can someone tell me where we are allowed to launch our kayaks in Williamstown?
I'm hoping to take a mate out on the weekend and looking for a nice sheltered area and williamstown looks great for newbies.
Are you allowed to launch off the beach? I see kayaks occasionally out near the football ground but can't figure out where they launch from.
Is there anywhere to launch along the Strand?
Is there a website or index of places to launch kayaks?
I know all the places around Altona to launch and go but Altona is very weather dependent.

I use the Williamstown/Newport anglers club slip, the members are a good bunch and don’t mind kayaks launching there and there are good fishing grounds only a few hundred meters away (footy oval reef) which is good if the weather takes a turn for the worst.

Cant launch from the beach. Newport anglers ramp as mentioned. If you want free parking you have to park up on the esplanade at end of Giffard st and wheel across the grass slope to the ramp. The is a way to get out at the end of Cole st but the track down there is eroded and overgrown, so not really used lately i dont think.
