With snapper season here and incoming, I wanted to ask what kind of rigs are effective
and will it work if I throw a light weighted or free weighted pillie out the back while drifting?
I usually use plastics so I dont usually anchor up
Thanks

Re: Snapper rigs
With free Weight it depends on depth and tide flows. Fishing non tidal and in shallow water <6m then don't need weight. I find using a very small sinker (size of pea or smaller) does help. But you will need to anchor.
If your drifting then a paternoster rig with 2 lines hanging off with a reasonable sinker (based on conditions will be required)
Also linked to another thread I've done. I still use the same setup but early season I now don't use circles and use 6/0 Gamakatsu Octopus.
