Now this is one lucky pair of yakkers that's for sure.
Lucky they had heir PFD's on, and help was nearby.
When you look at the footage, the whole thing is predictable and avoidable.
To all you new to kayak fishing, and those not so confident 'seasoned' paddlers, watch this clip and learn from their mistakes.
And thanks to 'Hungry Hungry Fishos' for sharing their misadventure.
It's all about having fun and sharing your experiences.

Good one to share. Exactly what can happen in strong tidal flows if you are anchored across the flow, or retrieving your anchor.
Well past the edge, almost at the point of no return.

As you will well know Mav, it can happen as quick as that.
Confidence is a great thing to have, but sometimes backing out, pulling back or whatever you want to call it, is a wiser option.
It's not being a pu###, or whatever, it's judging the situation and making maybe a life changing decision.
Maybe it might be ok, but........................... what if it's not?
There have have been far too many fatalities over the past year or two with yakkers making the wrong call.
It starts with actually wearing your PFD, and doing so properly!
On and up tight.
Sure it might be a bit sweaty in this weather, but by golly gosh it is better than what happened to these two lucky guys.
Oh, and the weather is important too. Actually it's probably the most important one to get right. (the first time)

PS For those that don't know, Maverick does YouTube vids that share a wealth of knowledge and experience. A good one to start with:

It is exactly why I keep my rods in horizontal holders while fishing in fresh water.
