Images of fire impact

Eden so far dodged direct attack by fire (but danger still not over). The fire burned up to the Southern fold of Twofold bay. Here are some images of the impact on Aslings Beach, which is on the Northern fold. I choose not to include the many photos of dead birds. The piles of blackened leaves is astounding. Photos only give an impression rather than full appreciation of the volume of blackened leaves On the Northern end of the beach, leaves had been pummeled into fine parts and looked a little like an oil slick. The significant difference is leaves do not stick but float on water. The beach and rocks will be clean when water and wind does its work.
In places, waves were breaking black. Jet black, not grey.
The beach is recovering fast. Last night's strong Southerly probably removed a lot of the buildup.
