Here's a copy of something I found on the interweb.
Could be handy if you set up in an area which requires a fire pit/brazier.

I've had a similar version of this for many years.
It is very efficient in getting the heat up to a billy or a frypan.
This one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bmAP4kv5O8c ...is similar to mine.
The square cutout in the front makes it easier to get sticks in to keep it going.
And the notches allow for tent pegs to be used for supporting a small billy or drinking cup.
You only need a few small sticks to keep the thing choofing along.
It does produce a good amount of heat, but not like a 'real' fire......
But it is much more controllable for cooking purposes.
And you don't need much effort to clean up the whole shebang and tidy up.

Or try the Ikea Hobo stove.
They are cutlery drainers and come in 2 sizes.

They are all interesting, nice one.
Well past the edge, almost at the point of no return.

These burners are simple to set up and use. They confine the heat/flames to a small area and are thus very efficient in cooking stuff.
They don't need much fuel and if you use the tin can/billy type with less holes, they do not suffer from the wind.
They aren't really the best for post dinner heating, but you can still mesmerise yourself looking at the flames..........
They burn very efficiently with just small sticks if you are stuck for fuel.
They do work better with that square cut out in the bottom front to stuff the stick in, rather than feed them in through the top.
Either way you have a great cooking appliance.

For those that need to travel light, here is a great alternative.
https://www.survivalsuppliesaustralia.c ... ding-Stove
Light weight, easy to assemble, robust and just plain expensive!
But, it has a world class following.................
I'm not sure, but it looks like an expensive of the original 'hobo stove' that was very popular back in the us of a back min the thirties. :o
It appears the 2000's hobo can afford titanium now?
