I use a cheap long nose pliers for removing hooks from fish amongst other things , like probably many other here - only a few dollars a pair but being steel salt water does have it toll at times
more so when you forget to to spray them with inox / RP7 or something

anyway I had a pair that had seized due to this small oversight so tried soaking in Vinegar

so a few days ago I just grabbed a jar sat the pliers in and covered them with plain white Vinegar -- this morning I rinsed them off in plain water the rust just fell off them
and they are now unseized

the metal is pitted where the rust has been dissolved but they will be serviceable again - just need to give them a spray of inox or lanox

I didn't take any pics but probably should have - it maybe worth a try if you have a set of pliers rust up it may save you from replacing them

there are plenty of youtube clips on removing rust with Vinegar if you need to look how it's done

I been buying the jw bent pliers and yet they seize very quick if not sprayed my last pair disappeared so i got my spare out and it didn't take long before they started to seize, i generally spray after each trip but sometimes forget now and then i hit them with the wire brush on the bench grinder to clean them up this tends to loosen them quite a lot but i think the vinegar would work much better, thanks Cheater for bringing this up as mine need a good clean lol

This is a problem I've been thinking about, i use a headlamp that uses 18650 batteries however i don't bother charging them anymore as i just plug a 10000 mA battery bank into it while fishing this also charges my phone and anything else thats usb, however the terminals do become corroded should we be using a dialectic grease on them?
