Took the sounder to BCF today.
Failed to fire up using their new power cable and battery.
Unit being sent to Lowrance.
Fingers crossed for a replacement or repair

Re: Black death grr
Tas, I rarely disconnect the sounder from the leads, all this end looks to be in perfect condition.
Removed the fuse when it all failed and still no go
Head unit functioned fine before I touched the transducer.
Might have to pull it out of the yak and do diagnostic

Was planning to launch off Cape Paterson for a quick test. Battery failed to fire the sounder. Grabbed another battery and this also d...

San Remo channel challenge was thoughtfully postponed today to labour Day weekend.
I had a quick stroll to the pier today and you'd have to be mad to go out for a swim across in that.
Bring on autumn

Re: Gday from PI
Welcome to the forum.
I work in San Remo, and sometimes hit the squid from Cleeland bite
Post in the trips section if your going out and keep an eye if anyone is headed down this way for a fish (plenty of easy spots in short distance from you and better fishing grounds imo)

Re: Change of Mind
Hope that poly ramp is strong enough for the weight of your kayak and the added force of sliding it up?
Where there's a will there's a way, nice engineering if it works. Maybe a hole drilled thru both pipes and a long bolt thru the both will keep them joined?

Re: Fish in white/chease sauce with pasta
Haven't done it myself but try
seeded mustard, lemon juice, garlic fryed off. Deglaze with a little white wine, then add cream. Once thickening and combined add fresh herb maybe dill or chives and parsley and some lemon rind.
Get creative, like spicy, add chillies
