I've only trolled them sparingly for tuna and kingies.
I find them an incredible drag when paddling, compared to other alternatives that work - squid/cuttlefish strip or even a sub surface Rap like the Rapala long cast etc

Re: Gentle Annie Channel (Western Port)
do a search on here for "Gentle Annie" and there are a few dozen posts where this is mentioned. I dare say this will answer your questions around tide heights and where to launch from

Smoked Salmon - Making your by-catch a target species
Trent and I headed out to Williamstown Tuesday morning in search of snapper. Well, that's about as far as that story goes. We both came across a different school of good sized salmon - 40+cm. Boy they pull some good string! Meandering between all of the red fever boats who were grasping at the slim ...

Thanks. They were pretty chunky monsters so i actually cured them overnight and now just air drying them in the fridge before smoking a bit later.
Going to be an experiment so will see how it goes. I'll post the results

Hi Mav,
Digging up an old one here, but wondered if you brined the salmon prior to smoking?

Re: Waterproof Drone
Paul raises a good point, in that what happens when the fish fight lasts longer than the battery I have 4 batteries. No problem changing them on the water. My thinking was that, if the fish fight lasts 30minutes and you hook up with 8minutes left of battery, are you likely to want to chuck the rod ...

Re: Waterproof Drone
I really hope I can get great footage of others hooked up to fish. We might need to make an agreement, I film, you catch, we share   Looking vertically downwards into the cobalt blue water with a big fish hooked up would be awesome. I imagine seeing the size comparison to the kayak with s...

Re: Waterproof Drone
Hey Pete, Good video. Whats the resolution on the controls? Can you see birds in the distance ;) I know you mentioend it in the video, but I must admit, the jittering of the camera when panning does set it back from the gimbal setups. Also, the speed of the Compass appears to catch the camera tracki...
