Re: 2023-01-Jan Westernport Solo
The launching facilities at Corinella are good, with multiple, nonslip concrete boatramps and plenty of parking. A police patrol car did a circuit, too, which gave me additional peace of mind. I guess I arrived at low tide and the tidal range was way more than I expected. There was about 2 metres o...

Re: Whiting fishing technique
Thanks for the tips. Though I must say if this is tough fishing, either I've been lucky or summer is going to be amazing. I don't think I've ever caught so many fish, even if most go back. So much more success than my attempts from the shore. That said, it's a lot more work versus shore fishing too...

Re: Whiting fishing technique

Re: Gentle Annie Channel (Western Port)
Thanks cheater. It's interesting (but understandable) that all the charts just designate so much of that part of western port as just "mud", yet clearly there's a fair bit more structure than that. Though I gather the channels might move around a bit over time just like rivers do. You pro...

Re: Gentle Annie Channel (Western Port)
Anyone have any suggestions on how to get around this part of Western Port? e.g. where you can go at high tide that boats don't, where you can go at low tides that boats can't etc. e.g. is Blind Bight an all tides launch for a yak? first stop to this question is look in the launch spot section Blin...

Re: New to kayaks what winter clothing do you recommend
I wasn't aware that thermal rashies were a thing. Thanks for this post, I will be investing in one of those as we head towards winter. Pretty common for the Vic guys to use thermals over winter and the adrenalin brand is pretty good value for money - I myself use Adrenalin thermal pants under a set...
