Re: Adventure Island down
Glad you escaped unharmed Tas. Yes sounds like you accidently opened the hatch. The 10 litres of foam you refer to would be a hobie install as I had not added any additional boyancy

Re: Anyone got any work going?
its now the harvest time at all the local wineries with the picking / vintage now beginning. The money may not be great but there is usually something if you are able. Call around, there are plenty of local wineries.

Re: Offshore kayaking in your sixties.
I also will hit sixty this year and converted to an adventure island a few years ago to help maintain the confidence to go off shore as I mainly go alone. Maintaining flexibility is my main challenge with a dodgy back and also keeping my weight down. I am now concentrating more on my golf game tryin...

Re: BUYING A KAYAK
Fishkeen, don't rule out looking at a tandem island. Although more expensive to purchase you both get to enjoy sailing on a very easy to operate and stable kayak and is also fishable from. Just saying look at al your options before committing.

I'd suggest dropping into your nearest Hobie dealer and discuss with them your expectations and go with their advice.

Re: A very ambitious thought... Cody banks.
Last trip out to Cody we landed a 220kg mako. The blokes that go there now days recon its pretty hard to get somewhere on your own to lay a berley trail over summer as there are boats everywhere. If you do venture out there make sure you are highly visible to the numb nuts driving boats.

Re: Shark Shields
Hmmm a bait ball of kayakers, but who has the yum yum yellow kayak?? I hear Mitch fanning has ditched his surfboards with yellow underneath. Seriously thinking of purchasing a shark shield myself as often fishing waters alone that are frequented by whites.

They will be back the way the patterns are going. We used to catch them off Cliffy Island near Wilsons Prom regularly years ago.

Re: Bought Something new wanna share it? Post it here
Since we're on a car tip, here's my (soon to be) new wheels. Well, not new, but not too far off. I always wanted an Aston and since the BIL is loaded, he agreed to sell me his (not as much of a discount as I expected), but since the kids have left it's time to dip into the super! Been wanting to re...

Re: Decent work boots.
With my old work boots aging and suffering wet feet the last couple of days, I have purchased both the Mongrel & Steel Blue boots with side zips as two pairs are preferable to allow changing boots between jobs, handy when working in mud. Thanks Gozz for starting this thread as it has been most h...
