I'm curious on these anchors that have needed to be cut or left what set up they were.
I have a 1.5 kg folding grapple type. It's secure to the underside and cable tied to the shaft for backward removal if ever need be. The cable ties singularly have been selected to break with enough force but I have used 2 with slack do its not doubled strength needed. Just a 2 stage pull and snap pull and snap.
I have 1 m of chain or a little more. The chain looked to me as another dangerous snag point so it is also attached to the main rope by cable ties also. This should ensure I always get my anchor loose.
There is always still the possibility the main rope can snag and just plain bad luck screw you over. But I think most of my bases are covered.
And I tested my rig and every thing worked as intended. I fixed the anchor to something and made sure everything broke where and how it was supposed to. I also tried to replicate correct angles.

It will depend on your style of fishing if you fish bait and anchor the drift Shute is pointless.
If you fish lures then a Shute is a must have it slows your drift down. If I'm drifting at 10kph and put the Shute out I slow down to about 2.5-3kph
