Hi all,
My daughter has been bugging me to get her a kayak and I have been thinking maybe an I9S or similar may be the go.
I was wondering if anyone has used them and would share their comments and also I am a little concerned about how well they are protected from squid jig and fishing hooks.
Any comment appreciated
Brendan

People laugh at me because I'm different, I laugh at them because they're all the same.

I haven't tried one myself, but I met a couple traveling around Australia and had 2 of them in their van. They set them up in about 10 minutes and peddled off. Yes, they have mirage drive. The material looked incredibly strong. More like a rubber duck, not your swimming pool floatie.

Sounds similar to the smish balloon material. Give your local Hobie dealer a hoi and get their take.
cheers

Dealers word is their good but crap. (i was thinking about getting one for my dad.) They work, but only worth getting if you really need to fold it up. Also pretty hard to drill holes in

I had a look at Frappas, looked like really thick durable material.
He had a storage problem, so that was a good solution.
As for mounting?
(not sure that I can use mounting and inflateables in the same post???? But since the mods are listening )
Frappa a steel frame that was a bit clunky to set up I imagine (best ask frappa)
Smish, from memory had a really slick set up.
I like the real thing myself
5 mm of plastic!

Hey Brendan,
Have you seen these junior yaks made by Jackson before http://www.nswatersports.com/kayaks-c10 ... tewater-t6
They sell them in Melbourne at canoes plus in Kew.
I was in there one day and couldn't believe how small some were.

I bought her a seak swift for her birthday and its ok for a bit of a muck around but she now wants to come out the bay with me and im not comfortable she could manage with a paddle yak, i was looking at the sport but i thought the inflatable might be easier as she probably wont use it a lot but enough to make it worthwhile.
Also i thought my wife might want to go for a peddle with me here and there
Im just looking around and see whats around and seen they were cheaper than the plastic yaks which is another bonus.
Anyone looking to sell a sport around christmas?
Anyone got an inflatable i could test or looking to sell?
Brendan
