hey guys
Finally got a yak from westvic, just an outback, but it does the job well
I would like to spend around $600 +/- on a decent sounder, however I don't really know where to start. Any suggestions would be great.
Here's a few snaps from our maiden voyage
Cheers

Some nice pic's there too!
If your looking at spending that much I assume your looking at a sounder\GPS combo?

Is this your first sounder?
Hey mate it really depends on what your after big/small screen, color, GPS+maps....
I have a Hummingbird 385ci Combo which is awesome, however i upgraded form a cuda 300 so anything would have been awesome! But seriously it is a good unit, you should be able to pock one up for around $600-$700.
Cheers

Re: New yak, which sounder?
Heyy Nick,
I use a Lowrance M68C and I love it, best thing I've bought. I would be stuffed without it really. I can mark out schools of EP's, Bream, Mullet whatever and tell the difference between them all. I think it was around $350 and it also has a GPS. I do like the Hummingbirds though but I'm 1100000% satisfied with mine. It works great on sounding out Snapper too We'll have to catch up soon dude, since you got the yak n all.
Cheers Mitch!!

Re: New yak, which sounder?
Hi Nick
Its not $600-700 but MattyP is selling a sounder (I reckon he would take that much if you offered though)

He has caught a couple of bream from his reports so the sounder can't be too bad....
