I've done a couple lake trips but never a bay trip so I checked the weather forecast and all looked good.
I took a rod with me with a couple squid jigs and a small esky and headed to Olivers hill and by 11 am I was on the water and searching for reefs.
Found a small gravel reef and with in 20 min I had 3 squid in the yak.
While the squid where going well I could see the bottom clearly but then a westerly wind blew up and the surface rippled up and made it virtually impossible to see the bottom.
The water got fairly choppy and I was really impressed with the kingie.
I found it to be fairly dry and super stable even when it chopped up.
One thing I noticed was the water coming through the scuppers when it chopped up but I'll plug those little suckers next time I go out.
The kingie also didn't want to turn while I was going with the chop so a rudder kit might be on the cards next.
All in all I was over the moon with everything apart from the above mentioned so now I've got a few ideas I'm going to start pimping.
This is what the day turned into , I know not very rough but it was my first time and it gave me a rough idea of what I can expect.
My first bay outing.

People laugh at me because I'm different, I laugh at them because they're all the same.

Good one a couple of nice squid and a beaut day on the bay, but did you get properly welcomed to the bay by the squid?
It means they love you if you get squirted in the face as I have tried to explain to quite a few lovely's in my time.
