G,day.
Having been mostly a land based fisherman since a very young age, I was always gazing out past the breakers or the edge of a reef thinking to myself "If only I could get my baits or lure out there".
I did get out on boats occasionally but there was always the hassle of space, fuel, ice, bait, rego, licence etc...
So When I saw a bloke fishing from his kayak on the bay one day, my heart was set on getting a yak.
I purchased a Wavedance Kingfisher in November of 2008, and I have never looked back.
In this short period of time, I have become addicted to this form of fishing.
Yak fishing is a simple yet very effective way to get out on the briney and enjoy 2 great sports, angling and kayaking.
It is all to easy to chuck the yak on the roof of the car after work and head down to the water for a quick fish.
The other blokes I have met through this sport have ALL turned out to be true legends.
I dont know if it is our common interests, but I am happy to call them mates and get out on the water with them when I can.
I hope all Victorian yak fisho's get a lot of use from this site, and any suggestions anyone has dont hesitate to ask!!
See you on the water,
Will
