HOW TO CLOSE THE HOBIE MIRAGE KAYAK SAIL

Post by Mordy »

Found this Youtube vid on a DIY sail opener and closer for samller hobies.
Apparently the sails are hard to roll up while on your yak, especially in the wind.
This punter got caught in some wind (second link) and thought there must be a safer way
Costs about three dollars

This is his earlier vid

Interesting if you are thinking about buy a sail hobie or not apprently the bigger kayaks in the "Fleet" have bearing devices.

Still on the drawing board with my sail

This guy posts a lot of useful videos. Worth subscribing. Been thinking about a sail as well for a while but no time to experiment as yet.

That's using your noggin, very clever indeed.
