I retired at 53 and lasted 2 weeks, got head hunted and now contract about 10 hours a week on my terms and remuneration.
It keeps me off the streets and means I can buy a half decent single malt when I feel like it, good reds and Becks imported (which is generally cheaper than effluent from the CUB outfall).

Your retirement sounds like a lot more fun than mine Iain.

Yeah the land is all that's been keeping me going really, gives me a reason to get out of bed sort of thing.

I'm looking for a second tractor at the moment as the more I can do with machinery, the longer I can stay here and cope with the work.

we bought a new kubota 23hp in january with a fel to make life easier, got a grey fergie with a grader if you are interested, tea20 that workswell although i can't start it, pretty sure it is basically sound with no major defects, not pretty but functional, haven't started it for 3 years but i'm sure it will go with some perserverance and a new battery.
tyres are pretty good and we have new plugs, points and cap for it.
