Hey mate,

I'm told that shellite works well, but have not tried it myself

When I changed yaks recently I had to remove my transducer from the old hull where it was embedded in All Clear. It started off as a bugger of a job until I got a 3/4" wood chisel and tried using that to remove the T/D from the goop. Basically using the blade of the chisel upside down I worked it under the edge of the All Clear and levered up as I went. It was fairly easy to get right under the adhesive until it came free of the hull. Then it basically peeled away from the transducer and any residue cleaned off easily with Shellite.

Hope that helps you.

Warm soapy water and use a cloth, should remove any salt etc from the exterior, I would trim any wires that show any sign of corrosion and spray them as well as any exposed terminals with Inox. Apart from that, send it to the Manufacturer for a clean and service I guess (or Widsa the electronics guru :yahoo: ).

How you planning to re-install, some of the portable setups on here have been excellent and worth doing a search for, for idea's  .

This could be a good option for a reinstall
Saw this wet mount after I glued in unfortunately, could save a few tears in the future and make changing to a new unit a breeze
