Great work Peter,
where did you buy the plasticol in australia.
Could you please post some details.
Looked into a while back but could only get the stuff from the states.
Good luck in Malla

Thanks for the link Peterj
looks interesting. Just wondering how it works out $$$$ wise. I see one litre of plastic is $18.00
How many SP's would you get out of say 100mls, I realise it depends on what your pouring.
Have you been making your own molds? and what grade plastic are you using soft, hard, or medium?
Thanks again

Thats a good question Mordy.

Well i got myself 500ml of plastic and so far Ive made about 30 lures out of i guess 120mls .
I guess in one way it depends what you want from it in the first place. There are a lot of lures around that are cheap as chips these days so cost isn't necessarily what makes me want to make them. But having said that, I have molds very similar to very well known lures that cost $8 per pack , the whole bottle i bought was $9 dollars so there is a definite cost advantage there.

What made me want to make them in the first place was a lure that went out of production and i could no longer get hold of, i had one left so made a mold from it and melted down other old lures to make me some.
The big beaver tails as well could only be brought from OS so i found a couple in a bucket o bait from Big W , molded one and now i use them cos i can make em.

I got myself some medium plastic, to be honest i i don't think you'd want the soft compound, the medium is really soft, perfect for me and around the squidgy softness.

Thanks for banging this up Peterj, great news it is now in Aust and the price looks very reasonable, in fact his split rings and duo snaps look bl##dy cheap, do you know if the rings are stainless or just plain spring steel ?

Making my own plastics has had me quite intrigued for some time, I have melted down some old one's and made rough diy ribbon worms that worked ok so would definitely be interested in pursuing this more.

Is it fairly easy to make muti color lures, how do you go about it and how quick does this stuff set ?

Happy Sailing Fishing and keep blowing bubbles.

I use this site as well and make my own plastics to, the guy has blades for sale as well as molds. I have talked to the guy over the phone and he is quite willing to pass on any info, I just can't wait to catch my first fish on one.
