Get it right Buzzie, its "Ghurkin' wif an h :D . :yahoo:

Got out on a very windy Saturday morning, first thing I noticed about the kona is how it glides through the water, its big and wide and we where two up with only me paddling, very easy to cover distance and very stable too. even though the north side of Mornington Pier was sheltered and reasonably calmish the gusts of wind still tried to push us off course when heading into the breeze, the kona stayed on track and responds well to the paddle, turns on its own length in a tight spot and would provide a resonably dryish ride in calmer water.

plenty of room for storage in the hull with 2 large hatch covers and heaps of room between the front passenger and the rear. Having a paddle strapped on either side can sometimes interfere with the smooth operation of the anchor trolley, as its so easy to paddle from now on I will just take one paddle.

The hull provides plenty of room for attaching rod holders and other goodies, the seats are comfortable and if not being used as a tandem there is a third seat in the middle for solo trips, all in all a great yak.

Cheers Stevo "The Ghurk"

update,
when two up the rear end of this yak sits a bit low in the water, when pulling the anchor up as the yak moves backward any small wave will come over the side and then ya got a wet arse all day, and taking the seat bungs out makes it worse, Im thinking a small spray gaurd and rail around the stern will stop this.

make some scupper plugs up as the front passenger (Angus the bludger) gets wet pants legs from the small amount of water that comes in through the front scupper holes when heading into waves, tested scupper plugs and they work great.
fantastic dry yak when sitting in the middle solo.
