Hey Azzo,
I've been making my own based on a design I saw on the "other" forum. Very quick to make and you can use stainless/alloy fittings that may be stronger then plastic.
In a nut shell you wrap the desired length of brush cutter cord around a curtain rod, tape off the ends, then apply near boiling water. Let it cool, remove, and the cord retains the spiral from the rod. Iv'e been using anodised alloy clips on the ends (mornington BCF, $1.50 each) and tying off the end with 3 small cable ties. Finnish it with a couple of layers of heat shrink (stuff you use on electrical conections)and you're done.
They come up looking pretty flash and cost less than $5.00 to make. Yet to strength test em but I would imagine in the 15 - 20 kg range.
Bail me up tommorow and I'll show you
Cheers
Tim

Yeah I use wipper sniper cord and game line crimps http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Fishing-Crimps-S ... 3effd66a88 and use BIG swivel snap clips like these http://cgi.ebay.com.au/20pcs-Ball-Beari ... 3cb072562c
Makes a neat finish and wont slip.

Those crimps are a good idea Garry, much better than cable ties
