If you have a heavy weight in the front make sure you balance it at the back otherwise you could end up with serious weather cocking issues in a strong cross wind (wanting to keep turning into the wind), also the back swinging around to broach you in a following sea.

Dont go further than you can make it back manually, any marine electrics can suddenly fail.

Roll the kayak over to make sure battery doesn't shift, as that sort of weight will cause instability if it does
