You can get around the issues with the earlier models. The lack of center hatch can be alleviated somewhat by cutting the bottom of the round hatch so you can store stuff in the hull. It's only been out on one trip so far but the fish bag I got that sits on the bow of the yak frees up a heap of space behind me because I don't need to take an esky out with me.

No fixing the wet ride though, just embrace it.

Yes one of those fish bags is on my wish list, althou may be hard to reach mounted up front...
Scupper plugs are a great thing unto a wave comes over the side, creating a live well at ur feet, then I pull the plugs

You might have difficulty getting stuff out of the fish bag if it slides up the front end of the bag, but putting stuff in is easy.
