I noticed it looks like your using a Carlisle paddle? I can lend you my wing paddle if you want see how it goes, pretty much standard for the Stealths. They take a bit to get used to but are great once you get the hang of it

Yep I picked it up off Elm as a good back-up, I broke the hobie paddle three strokes from the ramp at SWR (beware hobie owners). Ill look at a nice carbon wing at some stage, but for now it's back to basics as I haven't been paddling for a while. I'll take you up on having a crack of yours though and you can watch me pull myself into the water with it

Sounds like a plan Rob, I sat in a dorado over at Andrews shop and there are some nice practical touches to them that the stealths don't have. I felt the seat a bit too deep but it might be different on the water. I bet the dorado is more stable as a result though.

yep they can be very unforgiving, I have come close to going in from the bloody thing a few times

Does your Vyak name comes from a Cobra Fish n Dive yak you once owned ?
If so you will have to change your name to FishNdive-outback-Evo.
Didn't read much about the fish you caught at SWR but you sure brought home a nice fast streamlined yak.
Enjoy giving her a new lease of life. She will go even faster when you paint her red.

Yep the name came from the cobra but the first yak was actually an RTM. There were no great catches for me at SWR For you to hear about mate, just the ones that got away! I managed some slimies and learned to bridle and dropped fish on two different days. I did manage to catch the bug up there though and will be back for sure!

I was looking at an EVO when the dorrie came up. It was the rocker that sold me. The deep seat is great on the water but can be a pain to climb out of after a long day. It carves through chop and swell.

Looking good Eoin and I like the future plans you have for her. Maybe have a look at some of the railblaza mounts instead of the rams to give you more options.

I took it for a little spin at SWR. It's certainly nimble but then there's not much of it to push along. I'm glad you're keeping the Outback. I can see the Stealth being good for minimalist distance trips, particularly trolling. But then there's a lot of fishing down here where the added space and versatility of the Outback would be sorely missed.
