Hi All!
I'm looking at a Necky Vector 14 to build a fishing platform from but I'm just wondering will the width of 63cm be a little tight?
Cheers.

Depends what you want to do with it.
Everything is a compromise between performance and utility.
If you want to go seriously offshore then narrow faster yak is an advantage and you simply minimize you payload. If you are just punting around inshore then you can go for more tub like utility yaks.
Have you paddled this, is the yak itself to your liking? Any reason you want a skinny yak?

I got a chance to pick one up really cheap as the previous owner unfortunately had a work place injury and needs a shoulder reco. Just happens to be I was looking to get into yak fishing.
I looked at many fishing yaks but when the Necky came up I couldn't turn down a bargain.
I want to fish mainly Port Philip Bay and when I get a bit more confidence maybe a little offshore.
