Yeah I thought wrasse but when I cross referenced the mouth and shape just wasn't exactly right..... It may well have been though.....certainly easy to hook, little fight in them and caught 2 on some squid on a noster at the same time.
No not like magpie perch or the other more brown coloured, those look cool though:-)

There are many species of wrasse. Nineteen pages to look at in the following link.
Look for shape. Males are usually colourful and females are sometimes drab shades of brown but colours can vary (maybe depending where they live).
