How about considering another Outback for your brother? Just a thought..
I own an Oasis. The 2012 model has a very similar hull design to the Revo. I've never been on the Outfitter, but I'been told and can see that it's similar to the outback where some hull slap does occur. Not saying it's such a bad thing.
Check out both models to compare
I only bought the Oasis so my daughter and missus can get out aswell. Only been used a few times though.

Get two yaks, a tandem is a pig if you are on your own. You will cover more area and argue less. Dont have a lot of storage on a tandem compared to two yaksTimi200 wrote:Well guys the title is my question, I recently bought a outback and im loving it, now my brother wants to come along aswell (we are both fishing addicts) and we are tossing up between the outfitter or oasis, look for someone to help me out, we will be fishing port phillip bay 99% of the time, cheers.

I concur with the 2 yaks, BUT if you go the double...get the Oasis. I have owned both the Outfitter and the Oasis and would buy the Oasis because it's quicker, drier, and a very stable yak. The outfitter is slightly more stable being slightly wider, but you WILL get sick of having a wet arse...trust me.
Cheers Gary...

Re: whats a good tandem for port phillip bay
I had the Oasis for my first kayak. Stable as and lots of fun with a mate. I sold mine and got a outback because my mate and brother loved it so much they both bought hobies. Was hard getting kids out of bed super early for a fish so it became a bit of a chore getting the bigger yak onto the water and on the roof to transport by myself.
Bought the outback and havent looked back.

Any places hire tandem Hobies?
I'd really like to hire one for the weekend to take the Mrs up to Toolondo so she could see it

Alright thanks guys, i can't get another outback as my brother hasn't got his car license yet. So we can only take 1 yak but I'm kinda leaning more toward the oasis but I will let u all know what happens.

There are plenty of ways to load 2 outbacks on the one car. They stack ontop of each other pancake style and can also be sat more vertically with a frame. You will thank yourself down the track for going with 2 over the tandem.
