Beginners Yak Scallop Dive

Post by maverick »

Anyone new to yak diving/diving/refresher/experienced divers etc etc interested in a scallop session. Low key, no rush, perhaps some practice in the shallows first?
Well past the edge, almost at the point of no return.

Good idea Mav, count me in.
Found a use for my obsolete alloy tanks. - No one will test or fill them but I could use the empty tank for donning & doffing practice in the shallows while out on the yak. :yahoo:

Learn to dive in Melbourne, then you can dive anywhere in the world. Cold water = better seafood to catch and take home.

What about Sunday after the long weekend, so that would be Sunday 15th. Not sure what the tides are yet, we can review later in the week once the weekend is within the forecast period. BYO dive gear and kayak. This is not an instructional session. We are just helping each other learn how to dive from a kayak.

Suggestion would be to attach a 15 -20 metre section of light rope to tie the catch bag to the kayak and tow behind you.

This date work with anyone as a starting point? (subject to change)

Working on a special tank hire/fill price for VYAK members who are not members of the Harbour Dive Club at Mornington. Hopefully it will be an ongoing deal with Harbour Dive. They also have a new app coming out soon, buy 7 airfills and get 3 for free.
