Flinders Cray Dive Sunday 25th

Post by maverick »

Conditions are looking great, light northerlies and a 0.9m swell.

There is a deep little section of reef close in the shore I would love to dive on, only a short peddle/paddle outside of the marine park. Anyone else keen for a dive or even a snorkel in close proximity?

Thinking of an early fish first, then swap the fishing gear for the diving gear and back out again in the early afternoon on the low tide.
Well past the edge, almost at the point of no return.

Diving for FREE Crays....Sigh-

There are not many things I grumble about with being old, but missing being able to dive is one of them.

Bloody good luck to you...go get 'em while you can.

The rip may still be holding some but I'd be surprised if there were many along the coast.

It would be worthwhile heading wider for a while in about 30m and drift along bottom bouncing for snapper, flatthead, bigger gummies or even a bronzie.

I think there may be a bit more swell than .9 Pete looking at the swell chart. But will see.

mmmmm think it may be a tad bigger than what that shows, but still could be a good day although I might go surfing if its a bit bigger.

Sound like a good plan Mav. Will have to dust off my gear and pick up a tank Saturday if I am going to join you. I assume you launch from car park below the golf course. What time Sunday for the dive ?

I have to pull the pin on this trip, did something to my back on Friday and just no way I could go out in the yak for a fish, let alone diving.
