The Vibe

Post by Bomber James »

Vibe Lures...
How good are they?
Whats the best way to use them?
And your most successful results on Vibes.

Personally only used them once at Bemm River and caught stuff all, while fellow yakkers where bagging out on bream.

Are Vibes better in salt water than fresh.
If I can take a line out of that great movie the Castle,is it the Vibe...

Your thoughts and photos

Haven't used them much and had even less success, one couta and one small flattie for memory.

Have tried them trolling above Rapala's and Swim Baits hence the couta, tried jigging them on the bottom hence the flattie. Still undecided but mostly uneducated in how to best use them. + with all those hooks I am a bit scared to actually stick them where you are supposed to, in snaggy enviroments.

Got my first Pinkie on one this season, then lost the vibe a few casts later on the same reef, bugger.

OOoooohhhhhh where to start!

I love them!!! TT switchblade would be damn close to my favourite lure. Seriously, I've been chasing bream on lures for about 12-13 years and in the last 2 years using blades have been awesome both for size and numbers of fish. And the by catch ain't too shabby either. So far Goatfish and Ludrick have been the big surprises including a 2.5kg ludy at tyers. Also caught plenty of Flatties, pinkies, Estuary perch, Bass, tailor, Trevally, Salmon, pike, snook, tommy ruff even King george whitting and a few squid I've managed blades. Personally I can't speak highly enough of them.

As far as technique goes I like to give the lure short, sharp "rips" with occasional pauses, seems to do the trick!

Stick with 'em guys, they rock!

Another fan. Haven't been using them long but have caught a heap of flatties and a few bream.

pimped one of my cheap ebays vibes with some araldite and silver glitter (thanks windknot) - the salmon went nuts on it, just received another 5 in the mail today. Nice small ones - bring on the fish.
