Internet ISP/home phone suggestions or recommendations?

Post by mingle »

Hi All,

I currently have my home phone and internet with Telstra...

Customer service, reliability and speed is pretty good - I've never had any real issues in over 2 years. However the price is starting to look a little high compared to others.

I currently spend $59.95/month for cable internet - 12GB limit then throttled (I'm being throttles as I type!).

Home phone rental at $20.95/month and monthly calls of between $10-20...

So my monthly bill is usually around $95.

I'm wondering if anyone else can recommend an ISP that can offer broadband and home phone for less than that (less than $80 would be nice) :-)

My local phone exchange can only handle ADSL, so it would be nice to be able to keep cable internet access.

I'm not interesting in VoIP or anything like that, just home-phone landline and broadband internet.

Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Or perhaps I should stick with Telstra and try and screw them for a better deal? :-)

Cheers,

Mike.

I run my office phones and broadband through Spirit Telecom, couldn't quote you rates, but they have to be competitive and the few times I have had a question or issues they are onto it quickly.

I haven't changed my home phone to them because we have 3 mobiles through telstra, through our home phone and the break costs wouldn't make it a viable option in the short term.

I'm with internode as well,
I've got three friends that all work at telstra and they're all with internode as well, they don't trust themselves why should I.
having said that, wouldn't hurt to call and tell them you're shopping around they're pretty good at offering a better deal than whatever you're on.
