Sit ins are even more dangerous for novices. I get paranoid above leaving hatches open, especially the front one. I have a pump but that means leaving a hatch open to pump, and in a rough sea and low on energy it may be coming in faster than going out. But then I have tackle containers that could be used in an emergency.

This is an idea I have been meaning to do. First saw it in a ocean kayaking forum a few years ago and now just recently isportfish had it installed on his yak.

Though it might inspire Ghurkin to install a keg down there, for some draught beer

There are some foot pump type ones you can get but a bit pricy for what they are and don't pump out the same volume as the hand pumps.
