G'day from the hills

Post by Tormentor »

I missed the start :(

but I caught up.

might be here a bit more than AFKK might be a little more relevant

Good work.

me? I'm a grumpy old man with a boat I built myself which I haven't rigged out yet 'cause I'm building another... only thing I've caught from the "yak" so far is carp 3-4kg (I think) but it did highlight the issues of yak fishing when you sit in the thing. That was out of Nagambie but it was fun being pulled around...

See ya around.

Hi Tormentor and welcome, what part of the state do you hail from, would love a look at the home build sometime.

welcome aboard tormentor, I would love to see some pics of a home made yak as well.
Well past the edge, almost at the point of no return.

x3 for me.

Well done for building your own yak Tor!..
Please do throw up some photo's for us.

Those Jem watercrafts look great.
Wish I had the time, patience, and space to have a crack at one.
But for now I will have to resort to admiring other peoples.

Hope to catch up with you one day for a fish.

Will

As you can see it's a bit of a blank canvas

Just a quick link to the build log I'll fill in my profile details a bit more too.

Tor, that is one awesome looking craft mate.
I can't wait to see her in the flesh!!.. the grain looks terrific...

Oh no look out, I am going to be one of these people who stands on the shore asking 1,000 questions, keeping you from going fishing!!!

Maybe you could put your build photos up in the DIY section for members to view, I think she deserves to be admired!.

Gday Tor,

Welcome aboard, You are not too far from me. Currently I am near Knox City but will be moving to Inverloch in a few months. Grats on your kayak. The wood finish looks fantastic. Hope to see you and your craft out in the water soon.
Cheers,

Hi Tor, just found the link to your build note's, very nice, very nice indeed. I love wood and it would be a great feeling to build and paddle your first craft, I envy you. I used to carve Native American Flatbows for archery, the feeling I got when first launching an arrow is something else, really gave me a buzz.

I thought you looked to be sitting very high, have you tried changing/lowering that to see if it helps with paddling/steering/balance?
