as the heading says, I'm wondering if it's worth getting the sail kit for my revo

so ... do any of you sail your hobie ?
can you sail and fish properly with the mast set up ?
how well does the revo perform under sail ?

I've done some research, but would really appreciate some first hand views

Yep, no problems. I used to troll with two rods (one each side) while under sail.
When I got a hookup, I'd just quickly reef the sail and then deal with the rod.
When the sail is furled, the mast really didn't get in the way. Obviously it's
not as convenient as having no mast, but not a huge problem.

Pretty good. Obviously you wouldn't go out in 50 knot winds, but in a brisk breeze
I could get an easy 9 km/h out of it. You really need outriggers though, it makes
a huge difference to the stability of the setup.

Yep, my experience sailing an Adventure is similar to a Mingle's description. Be warned though - it will make you want to get an AI - sailing with the standard sailkit will make you see the beauty in the AI. You'll likely end up like Mingle and I

Yep, the Revo sails well. You'll love it. My comment was related to how much fun you'll have and how you'll quickly realise how much more fun you could have with a purpose-built sailing yak.

Yeah, not bad fun,Ive also trolled with 2 rods under sail, just got to be organised,Use the out riggers though ,tipped mine over up in north queensland (under sail ,no out riggers)didnt have anything tethered either so found my self diving for the rods ,finally got them in hand in time to see yak turn compleatly upside down,sail pointing to bottom.Well ! desperation would be an apt word,didnt no what to do with the rods I was still hanging on to,coudnt get the yak upright, didnt want to think about who else was in the water wih me ,remember this is Bowen ,Q,land,! so swam, pushed ,towed everything to shore,about a kilometer had to derig once sail hit bottom still hanging on to rods, Jesus!anyway finally got there, about an hour lucky tide was slack,Missus was waiting on beach along with a few other locals,talk about embarrassing, lost a knife found my hat washed up on beach next day . like I said just got to be organised !!!
