Squid Jigs
OK, guys, how about posting pics of your favourite squid jig/s - brand name, colour and size. I am squid jig dyslexic when it comes to brands (they all sound the same) so a few pics might help those amongst us that can remember pretty colours and shapes.
Well past the edge, almost at the point of no return.

Re: Squid Jigs
Hi Pete,
At work so no pics, but Yamashita in earthy colors are my Favourite, followed by Daiwa Rattlers in earthy, then Yozuri. I find a mix of earthy and flouro jigs are a must, as some days the squid are queing up to get in the deep fryer, other days they put there clever caps on
size 2.5 for all round use, 3.0 for a bit deeper/ windy conditions, 2.0 if fishing really spooky squid or shallow ground.
Bilby.

In order from most used (top) to least used (bottom) but they all catch squid.

Re: Squid Jigs
My most effective jig is the second one down in Hatters picture, never fail to score on this natural color, and the first yozuri one on his list is an absolute cracker aswell. Gone Fishn in carrum downs has 40% off yozuri jigs untill the end of the month i think that makes them about $10 each which i think is pretty bloody good

Re: Squid Jigs
Bilby's on the money mate. Good jigs catch squid. My only advice is get faster/bigger jigs for WP and slower/medium sized jigs for PPB. I also stick to natural colors.
Cheers Dan

Re: Squid Jigs
Yeah those yamashita natural jigs are unbeatable. Haven't been out in the yak yet but from the rocks along mornington-mt Martha they always outfish my other jigs (harimitsu, yozuri).
I think I remember that Mo tackle have them for around $16 (over 20 in tackle shops) and they also have 15% off squid jigs at the moment.

Re: Squid Jigs
Yeah I prefer to use the natural colored jigs, but I have found that I usually cant get the exact size and weight jigs that I want so I make my own.
Cheers

Re: Squid Jigs
I find the 2.5 natural Yamashita is deadly...its allmost cheating there that good!! The 2.5 Yamashita "clownfish" pattern is a winner too... also a smidge of Squidgy "x_factor" brings the cheapy lures into play... cheers Paul
