At Somers this morning. Apparently still missing.
My wife and I saw 2 guys launching short cheapie fishing yaks this morning at Somers and I mentioned to her that it was a crap day to be going out in those. As soon as the tide turned it was going to turn to shite and no where to get back safely due to the exposed rocks at Somers.
Unfortunately my dogs headed the other way, so I didn't stop to say hello. Bugger, hope it wasn't one of them. My wife just mentioned the guy in the green yak wasn't wearing a pfd, when she walked past...
And yet the message doesn't seem to get through.
Hope they find the person alive.

Re: Missing Kayaker
Apparently the search got called off.
The guy who made it back said his mate left his pfd in the car and couldn’t be bothered going back for it

So sad when this unnecessary sort of thing happens, and conditions were predicted to be even worse.

Re: Missing Kayaker
I have now seen the same guy on a glass yak paddling up and down the barwon, even past him once on his way out the mouth, he never wears a PFD on a couple of occasions I've launched and then noticed I've not doned the PFD it's anoying but i always head straight in for it.
It's a shame that people think it will never happen to them, when the statistics prove otherwise! I feel sorry for the people he leaves behind
