VFA issued a shark warning for the area. Presumably this will last until well after the summer season:

I've been thinking about a trip down there for a couple of years but never get around to it. I imagine the beach fishing will be red hot once the whales start 'melting'. Maybe about March next year???

Thank Steve, when i lived down that way you needed a good 4x4 a map and compass to go anywhere south of the hwy between bemm and mallacoota, one day we went for a drive down the timboon inlet track, it was ruff as, we didn't go very far before turning around lol
