2 reasons, first is that is was a present from swmbo - so I would get in trouble if I didn't use it.

secondly, I was diagnosed with a moderate heart murmur about 2 months ago, and I had to wait a month before I could see a cardiologist. While I was waiting I did some research on the diagnosis and figured that if worse came to worse, I could still use the yak with the leccy, if I couldn't paddle. As it turns out, at some point in time in the future I will need an op on the ticker, but the cardiologist said it was fine to paddle for now so the leccy is off and paddle is back.
