So did anyone from here win the auction. It reached $515.00 for the pair, still good value when they would cost ~$1200 new.

shane wrote:What a Stupid Ridiculous article. I doubt the "journalist" Laura Banks has anything to do with surfing. The comments below the article pretty much say it all. The vast majority of Australians don't support a cull and I expect the rate would be even higher among surfers.
I have to agree Shane -- I'll support the cull on Whites when and only when they start chasing people down the street

Long before we need to cull sharks - we should ban cars , M/cycles , horse riding and a lot of other much more dangerous activities

Laura Banks is a F/wit

Like I said before a shock stick would be the go for me personally if I was concerned about sharks and that at a last resort.

To me, this seems like crazyness.
Carrying a live gun like device on a kayak, just to go out
For a fish??? Try to hit a moving shark from your kayak... Good luck
Maybe consider what would happen if it accidently went off.

My old man snorkelled for abs and fish back In the 70s.
His mate wielded a "powerhead" with a shotgun shell attached, and accidentally set it off, almost killing someone.
Guns like this are crazy in my opinion, something the yanks can keep to themselves

Not going to argue this point.

You can generally find second handers for about $250 so we went to double that, should have gone just a little higher in hindsight

Apparently there is a new Aussie version coming out with lava spitting spiders!
