But it's not a Hobie and that's what's important

Cheater - glass yes, but I'd never claim to have any class

I guess they needed an entry level model to see off the el cheapo Kings Craft and Peddlefish things
Bingo ;-)
I saw this earlier on Facebook and there is plenty of Q&A in the thread that gives more info as well. It looks like a good niche filler but would probably make the PA12 redundant imo.
Its fairly close in form factor and much the same in quality, but it does lack a lot of bells and whistles that PAs have. Much cheaper seat, GT drive (instead of 180) and less mounting utility. I'm sure it will effect sales of the PA12 but I doubt it will replace it (but wouldn't mind if it did).
Ok who's willing to be a guinea pig?
I'm yer huckleberry. Pretty keen to try this one out and will do as soon as it arrives.
Do we have an idea of prices?
We're guessing $2700, $2800 maybe. It isn't accurate to just translate US dollar values to AUD, because shipping these things over from the US adds to the cost. In any case, it will be the cheapest Mirage kayak in Hobie's range.

If it comes in a 14ft, that would be interesting,

Looks like they have got rid of the side 'grab' handles as well which might make loading/unloading a problem   . I use mine on my outback to flip it over onto the gunnels when loading on my box trailer.

Not too hard to add some aftermarket webbing ones. I did that to my older model quest

Looking to pick one up as well Josh to give a go. Sold my Revo as I also have an AI and a Wilderness Systems for out in the open, so need something for the lakes and estuaries down here in Merimbula. Depending on when they get to Australia and availability I'll either buy one here or at SLH as I have a few trips back up that way for a few family events  .

No worries Michael. Looks like they will be landing in limited supply around Oct / Nov. Going by word from factory I think demand is going to outweigh supply in the first few months, so keep an eye on our site and FB page for updates on ETAs, etc.
