Upgrading on a budget

Hello all,
I have an aquayak scout and plan on selling it and getting an upgrade. I've got a budget off max $900 pushing $1000. Im about 6"3 and 113kg broad shoulder. I'll be fishing mostly Western port and occasionally port Phillip bay. The fish I'll be targeting mostly is gummy, snapper and whiting.
I know $900 is pretty tight ( trust me, if I could some of the sexy hobies on here I would). What would people recommend? I've looked at some kingfish wave dancers second hand that seem a better fit for me. What are peoples opinion?

The wavedance Kingfisher is what you were recommended on FV and it's a good option for what you're looking for. Here's a good example at a bargain price:

No but Mal could have posted on either, or someone cross linked the post.
Even a new kingfisher as a bare kayak is just in your budget. Good solid kayaks, just lack a little on deck storage.

I picked up a Perception Pescadore 12 from Melbourne Paddlesports a couple of years ago for my first yak on a similar budget. $800 for the yak (paddle was extra).
This is bigger than the Scout but still a good size to carry or lift overhead. Very stable too - I am 6"3 and 115kgs and have only fallen out once (when drunk).
I would check them out - they are a re-badged Wilderness Systems Tarpon 120 (the previous shape). I think you can still get them for the price I mentioned.
