Saw a video for a 'HYPAR' collapsible kayak on youtube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YXiey8h-PJo. Not really interested in it myself but thought it worth mentioning especially as there seems to be some Australian connection (see the video end title mention of hobbywarehouse.com.au, though I can't at the moment find any mention of it on that site).
Dunno how practical it is but I suppose for certain types of camping/travel it could be useful. Does seem a fairly smart bit of design work nevertheless.

It's a joke & wouldn't advise anyone to get one unless you have backup support etc.
Go ask any surfski pro etc if they would use one, just a gimmick

Imagine it on a windy day it would be better than a hang glider

Much the same concept as the portaboats.
They never really took off, I think they have a bad perception due to un-informed internet comments who just assume they are crap?
Everyone seems to say they are unsafe, but I've never seen or heard a story of one sinking.

Probably because nobody's been stupid enough to try going to far with one of them lolsawtell wrote:Much the same concept as the portaboats.

I used to have a porta-bote . Can only say good things about it . I certainly took it out in some trying conditions . A lot of people who came with me mentioned it was more stable than a tinnie . One bonus was being able to take the caravan and boat on holidays . The biggest annoyance about it was all seats, outboard ,safety and fishing gear etc had to ride in the car and pretty much filled the back of my Prado . I`m actually thinking of buying another one . I love my kayak but I can`t take the family fishing in the yak .

With the sugar scoop stern it would be fun in a following sea.
