I'd recommend you buy a solo yak that you want and and buy your missus a yak (if she is small you could buy a 2nd hand Sport fairly reasonable or older Outback) If you fish mainly by yourself, a double is a PITA.
I fish 80% of the time with my wife and enjoyed the double, but I hated them solo...that's why we ended up with separate yaks.
